Forty years ago, Christian Horizons was founded to provide children with disabilities with the opportunity to experience the love and support of the Christian community in a vacation setting, and to provide respite for exhausted care-givers. Over the years, we have grown into a large organization that provides supportive community-based housing for people with disabilities of all ages, in communities across Ontario.
As of April 2006, CH Canada has developed in partnership with Christian Horizons to bring broader support and consulting activities to partners overseas and in other parts of Canada. We are adopting a broader mission, to reach out to people with disabilities in all of Canada and around the globe, to provide supported vacations, excursions, and respite care, and to help local agencies provide basic care to the most desperate of the needy in nations that have not been as blessed with government support as Ontario.
